Fabulous Girly Whirlies
Just a little shameless self promotion here:
A sub group of Chick Lit Writers of America, RWA online chapter, branched off to form a Month to Write online group in which we push each other to crank out a novel in a month. We don't, any of us, actually crank out a novel each month, but we set goals, we complain about not making them, and at times about life in general, we wet noodle flog one another and we have a lot of fun. The best part? In the process of all the whining and flogging, we do get quite a lot of pages cranked out.
But excuse my digresion...what I started out to tell you is that the branch-off of the branched-off group has branched off yet again, into a small, cozy group of women writer friends and we now have a group blog of our own.
We call ourselves the "Fabulous Girly Whirlies" and it's here on blogspot for your reading enjoyment. Please check it out.
Now, so far I am the only one to journal in it...but I have my arm drawn back and a wet noodle at the ready, so don't be put off.....SHCMACKKKKK.....I forsee entries from others in the near future.

Sounds like fun! Are you only chick lit writers?

We are all "chick lit" writers, although we all write in slightly different genres. Misty writes mostly mystery, mine are suspense, Kathy writes "hen lit" or "mom lit" (protaganist over 35)although I guess her latest book, which just landed her an agent, has three main characters, all women, one in her 20 or 30s, one in her 40s, and one 60-something.

Guess I'll have to check it out too!
I just read "Do Me, Do My Roots" not too long ago and it was great. Does that fall under hen lit or mom lit? Just wondering if you know. The main character was in her thirties and she's a mom and widow.

Eileen Rendahl is in my chick lit chapter. In fact, I think she was at RWA nationals and just taught a workshop at Emerald City. (Wish we could've gone to that this year -- I'm planning to go next year) I think that book falls smack into the chick lit catagory. It got great reviews, and I just unpacked it and added it to my shelf, but it's still on my "need to read" list. Did you like it? I know you're more of the straight romance reader.
